Minimal Expression
A confluence of concrete and color to create the perfect living space for the modern couple, this house has been designed to reflect the mindset of today’s young couples – sophisticated but not austere.
The abundance of natural light entering the living room highlights the walls treated with a concrete finish to provide the space with a minimal appeal. To offer a stimulus for the senses, one major wall that spans the entire home is treated with a soothing terracotta tone, offsetting the concrete finish. A contemporary carpet as a painting on one of the walls adds vibrancy to the living room and offers a pleasant break from the continuity of the concrete. The beautiful hues and enrapturing geometric patterns serve to help the carpet become a focal point within the room.
Instead of the traditional chair and table set up for the dining area, the chairs on one side and a long bench on the other gives the space a more modern yet intimate look and feel. The master bedroom continues the minimal design aesthetic, with only two slim red handles inviting you to enter and enjoy your personal freedom.
The tasteful choice of colors and materials aims to leave a lasting impression and defy the conventional expectations when one hears the word “monochromatic”.
